Here are the Neighborhoods to consider:

Saint Lucia North / Capital

(Gros Islet, Rodney Bay, Cap Estate, Corinth, Bois D’Orange, Castries)
Very touristic, urban atmosphere, walking distance to the beaches, shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, night clubs and lots of things to do all the time.

St Lucia’s South

( Canelles, Savannes Bay, Vieux-Fort, Laborie )

These surroundings are more suburban,  affordable homes, the Hewanorra International airport, one mall, a couple restaurants and bars, no night life and the Caribbean’s only international horse racing track is here.

Saint Lucia’s East Side

(Dennery, Micoud)
When it comes to home prices and affordable St Lucia homes, here you will find more bang for your buck . Both airports in St Lucia are about 35 minutes away. Micoud and Dennery are both fishing and farming villages. In Dennery you will the “Dennery Seafood Fiesta” which happens every Saturday night. Both villages have Kindergarten, Primary & Secondary schools.

Saint Lucia’s West Side

(Soufriere, Choiseul)
Soufrierie is known as the breadbasket of St Lucia. It’s the most visited town, and a “MUST DO” when vacationing in St Lucia. This town is quiet in the off tourism season but is a very popular tourist destination and a port for many private yachts & cruise ships.  Soufriere is right under Petit Piton and Gros Piton (World Heritage sites), has many waterfalls, only walk-in volcano in the Caribbean, ideal beaches for snorkeling and perfect natural and cultural exploration.

What is living in Saint Lucia like?

Just picture living in the perfect weather all year round at an average temperature of about 75 to 80 degrees. This allows for persons to chillax on the beach all the time. The people are very friendly, positive and laid back. Ladies would say that they never feel pressured to look completely perfect all the time as everyone is so relaxed.

One of the worst things living in St Lucia is the “Red Tape”. Lots of bureaucracy and everything Official takes a really long time.  If you’re someone who values your time, it‘s pretty much an all-day affair if you want to get anything done especially when dealing with Government agencies. The customer service in general is just bad. Can’t say the same for the tourism sector though as you can expect the highest quality of service in general. On the hand, the government and privately sector are slowly moving into online banking which would allow transactions such as bill payments.

The Pitons: The Most Photographed
